The Christ
The Father, Son and Holy Spirit are the principles (fundamental truths) of God in action. They are the Will of God made known. They are the TRUTH revealed. This is the “Holy Trinity” or the Whole of God. This is the spiritual character or “rock” foundation in which the natural man is to build. This is the perfection of God – the CHRIST.
Christ is the divine idea of the perfect child of God. Christ is the only begotten son of God and the one complete idea of perfection. The Christ is the mark in which we aim. As children of God the Christ is our purpose, intention, and expectation. Jesus represents the fulfillment of perfection in the flesh as man and therefore is referred to as Christ Jesus.
Christ is the message and Jesus is the messenger.
The name Jesus is the Greek translation of the name Joshua or Jeshua which means deliverance; safety; salvation; Savior; Deliverer; helper and prosperer. To add Christ to these names would be: Perfect-Deliverance; Perfect-safety; Perfect-salvation; Perfect-Deliverer; Perfect-helper; and Perfect-prosperer.
The name Jesus also means: whose help Jehovah is and deliverance through Jehovah. In the Old Testament the Christ is called Jehovah (I Am) so you can translate: Whose help Christ is and deliverance through Christ or deliverance through perfection.
Christ is perfection in the absolute or ultimate reality. Jesus represents the perfect-idea in man or the material or physical – as in heaven, as on earth. Jesus represents man passing through all of life’s problems, trials, tribulations, and temptations and “yet without sin,” or without missing the mark of perfection – the Christ. Jesus passed through the material and physical realm without falling under the dominion of evil thoughts – unlike Adam and Eve who believed in good and evil.
The Christ is the embodiment of all of God’s perfect ideas such as love, intelligence, and life. The Christ is the sum of all of God’s beautiful ideas and is our true spiritual and higher self (I AM) or Like-mind that God created in His image. Every man, women and child have the Christ (idea of perfect truth) within them and as Jesus told us it is within that we must search for the Christ (Luke 17:20-21).
The Christ is also called “I AM” which is the name of God within us. In the Old Testament the I Am is called “Jehovah” in the New Testament it is the Christ. In layman terms it is the perfection that all sons and daughters are capable of because perfection is in all of us because that’s how we were created. On the sixth day God created man and said that man was good. This Truth of God is eternal, it has never changed.
The Jehovah, Christ or I AM is our true spiritual self – perfect in every way; this is the Truth. The Truth that we are perfect is our link to our source of being and our connection to the Divine Mind. It is said that like minds attract and that perfect thinking connects our mind to the perfect mind of God. Thoughts of bad or evil separate us from our life source (mind of God) because these thoughts are not perfect. They are not the Truth but errors in need of correcting.
The Christ is our relationship and association with the spiritual. It is our association with true divine love, wisdom, understanding, peace, hope, strength, and power. The I AM is the kingdom of God or the kingdom of perfection. Perfection is not something that we can create outwardly it was first created inward – in mind and in spirit (will and consciousness). Therefore, if we were first created in the Mind and Spirit, will and consciousness of God, then we all were created perfect. This perfection still exists in all of us, and we must reconnect (reborn) with it and as Jesus said the only way to reconnect is to turn to within ourselves.
Jesus called the Christ the Father because it is God’s personal Will. Jesus said that he and the Father or he and the Will of God were one or unified (John 10:30). This unification with our will and the Will of God is called atonement or “at-one-ment.”
We must all surrender our will to God’s Will, and we do this through the Christ or through the I AM that exists within us. Remember what Jesus said, speaking as one unified with the Christ, he said that he, the Christ, is the way, the truth and the life. If we don’t do the Will of God and become as Jesus – the Christ, then we have no way to the truth and no way to eternal life. We are just missing the mark and that is a sin. Doing the Will of God is done from within. Therefore, it is through the mind, not the body or our actions, that we become one or whole with God.
