My Story (page 3)

Now I had something to live for, so I decided to start the cancer treatment.  God had prepared for me a Christian doctor and the best medical staff available, that would treat me with love and kindness.  My brother and sister went with me to my chemo treatments and it gave us a time to grow close again.  We met many people in the infusion center that were battling their own diseases.  My family and I were able to talk with them, cry with them and share with them our love and kindness.

A great many people prayed for me including members of this church.  I thank them for all their kind thoughts and prayers and for the prayer worriers who helped to pray me through.  In my life I had never experienced so much love.  As of this writing it has been over five years since the doctor told me I had only months to live.

God’s promises are true.  Don’t ever doubt His Word.  Whatever you’re going through in life know that you’re not alone.  God is there, you just have to look for the signs.  Things in your life may look bad but remember that even though a black cloud may be hanging over your head, behind it the sun is still shining.  God created you in love and what God creates is eternal.

You may not believe God is always there and you may not feel He loves you.  In this world we make for ourselves what we believe, and we believe in what we’ve made because we made it but that doesn’t mean that what we’ve made is the Truth.  What is made is just temporary, what God has created is eternal.  God created you as one of His children and nothing can change that not even your disbelief.  God loves you as He loves all His Children.  So, don’t be discouraged as I was.  God will show you the way, the life and the Truth if you continue, as I did, to seek His presence.

Don’t ever stop seeking Him first.

My life may be coming to a close and this may be my final chapter, but I can rejoice in knowing that all things have been restored and knowing that all my wrongs have been made right.  I now have a loving relationship with my son and God has blessed me with a beautiful daughter-in-law and a wonderful grandson.

The Apostle Paul said, it’s not how you start the race but how you finish it.  Even though I had a rough start I’m finishing well.  One day I will pass from this life and as I stand in the presence of the Lord and he will put his arms around me and say to me, “Larry, well done.”

God bless you and thank you for your time.
